Mutual Of Enumclaw Automates The ACORD Forms Process Using Hyland Software's Onbase
Enumclaw expands use of the OnBase solution, continues to see value
Cleveland /PRNewswire/ -- Insurance providers are looking to gain maximum value from technology investments. There is a demand for solutions that will eliminate paper and automate manual business processes today while providing the ability to deliver additional functionality in the future. Mutual of Enumclaw, a provider specializing in property and casualty insurance, initially chose Hyland Software's enterprise content management solution (ECM), OnBase, in 2005 to streamline processes in its claims department. Now, six years after its initial implementation, the insurance provider is still gaining value from OnBase by extending the solution with the ACORD Processing solution.
Mutual of Enumclaw wanted to bring more automation to new business processes and decided to grow its OnBase solution with Hyland's ACORD Processing Solution. This solution takes the ACORD forms, including new business applications received via email, and classifies, indexes and archives those forms through an automated process which routes the forms to the appropriate underwriting team.
Mutual of Enumclaw's Chief Information Officer David Wilson recognized the software's breadth and depth of functionality from the beginning. "We initially chose OnBase because we saw that it was easy to use, modify and expand. Earlier this year we were ready to grow our solution and move to a more automated environment. After we learned about the ACORD Processing solution we knew it would bring automation and efficiency we wanted to our new business processes."
"The ACORD Processing Solution supports ACORD's mission to standardize insurance processes by expediting the ingestion of ACORD forms," said Ed McQuiston, Hyland's insurance solutions and alliances manager. "The solution fit with Mutual of Enumclaw's two-year roadmap of ways to expand OnBase and continue to increase the value of the solution and efficiency throughout the organization."
By automating the ingestion of ACORD forms for new business, Mutual of Enumclaw will decrease the time it takes to approve new business and deliver improved customer service. This year, the insurance provider has received more than 18,000 new business applications. By using the OnBase ACORD Processing solution, Mutual of Enumclaw expects to save more than 600 hours because employees don't have to write file folders for business applications.
Mutual of Enumclaw is continuing to expand its OnBase solution by building workflows for underwriting around the archived forms and will move to endorsements later this month.
