How Digital Transformation In Sample Management Drives Increased Efficiency For A CDMO

This case study provides a real-world example of how a dynamic and expanding CCDMO integrated Waters™ NuGenesis™ Lab Management System (LMS) into their Digital Transformation (DX) process, aiming to enhance efficiency and ensure data integrity in their Quality Control (QC) sample management workflows.

The implementation was led not by software specialists or IT experts, but by BIOVECTRA’s own scientists, with support from Waters Solution Services. BIOVECTRA's ongoing implementation of Waters NuGenesis LMS to transition their QC labs from paper-based to digital is covered as well as their incremental deployment strategy, achievements, and hurdles. Concrete efficiency improvements and cost savings achieved by BIOVECTRA as a result of their DX journey are highlighted, including approximately $39,000 saved per product by eliminating non-value-added activities, approximately $9,000 saved annually through reduced sample submission time, and $20,000 saved per year by removing document control activities.
