Van Andel Institute To Simplify Accounts Payable Processes With ImageNow

Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software, recently announced that Van Andel Institute (VAI) of Michigan has entered into an agreement to deploy ImageNow in accounts payable.

Van Andel Institute is an independent research and educational organization based in Grand Rapids, Mich., dedicated to preserving, enhancing and expanding the frontiers of medical science, and to achieving excellence in education by probing fundamental issues of education and the learning process.

VAI will provide users access to invoices, checks and other vendor documentation directly from its Lawson application, leveraging ImageNow's LearnMode technology. ImageNow Interact for SharePoint will also enable users to access their documents via VAI's Microsoft SharePoint portal.

"After an extensive selection process, we chose ImageNow because of its proven integration with the Lawson 9 applications, built-in workflow capability, flexibility to easily integrate with other business applications, and ability to integrate with SharePoint," said Thad Roelofs, IT application analyst, Van Andel Institute.

ImageNow Workflow will simplify invoice processing by reducing the number of steps within the approval process by providing VAI employees a complete history of each document, from the time it is scanned into ImageNow until it is archived. Complete ImageNow and Lawson integration will enable users to create reports for all invoices, allowing management throughout the organization to quickly review financial information without the hassle and costs associated with duplicating and distributing large paper files.

"While our initial deployment of ImageNow will focus on cost savings and process improvement in the AP department, we plan to roll out ImageNow across our administrative and research areas to reduce document storage and printing costs, and to streamline processes throughout the organization," said Roelofs.
