Document Management: Optical Image Technology Continues To Grow In Staff Size
Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT), creators of the award-winning DocFinity® suite of document management and workflow software, announced today that four new employees have joined the company. This succession of staff hires is an outcome of the company's structured growth plan.
Ian Llado, Donna Meek, Rebecca Reed and Margaret Brech are each working in newly created positions, including Sales Account Manager, Corporate Trainer, and Software Developers, respectively, for the company. Chief Operating Officer Ron Prichard stated, "The quality of employees that we are bringing to OIT enables us to continue offering the best service to our customers. Each new staff person brings a solid background to help advance both the software and the company."
Ian Llado returns to OIT after leaving in 2004 to work as a Business Development Consultant for 3SG, a company specialized in document conversions. During his five years prior at OIT, Llado had also worked in the sales department where he was instrumental in marketing the DocFinity products to the higher education market. He has been published in University Business magazine and made numerous presentations during educational conferences held by organizations such as EDUCAUSE and CUMREC. "The advancements in the DocFinity line of products that have been made within the last two years are significant compared to the products that I previously sold. The company has more infrastructure in place but customer service is still a number one priority." Llado is an alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University.
In 2005, the Professional Services Department was created and now adds their ninth staff member. Donna Meek joins OIT as the Corporate Trainer. Meek is an experienced software trainer, having spent the last 9 years as a PeopleSoft training consultant. "Donna's experience in software training in a multitude of vertical markets such as higher education, manufacturing, financial and government will enrich our company's training on DocFinity products," says Harold Hockman, Director of Professional Services. In addition to her proficiency in training strategies, Meek is also versed in software documentation and implementation. She has provided training for such companies as General Electric, Capital One, Honda America, and Freddie Mac. Meek states, "After nine years of traveling around the country doing consulting for many different companies, I am excited to be back in State College, using my skills to support OIT's customers and help them succeed with their document management and business processes." Meek holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Secondary English Education from The Pennsylvania State University. She is currently enrolled in a master's degree program for Instructional Design through Capella University.
Margaret Brech and Rebecca Reed both have joined the development team as Software Developers who will be instrumental to the company as it works to develop Version 10 of DocFinity.
Brech comes to OIT after working for Restek Corporation, where she completed Six Sigma Black Belt training. Brech was responsible for gas chromatography column test specifications; development and modifications of the quality assurance testing program; and wrote training documents. Holding two degrees, Brech has a bachelor of science in chemistry from The Pennsylvania State University and an associate's degree in computer information systems from South Hills School of Business & Technology. "I am excited about the opportunity given to me to help OIT clients improve efficiency while lowering operating costs through my contributions to the enhancement and development of DocFinity document management software," says Brech.
A graduate of Boston University with a bachelor of arts in computer science, Reed brings extensive knowledge of programming languages including C++, C, IDL, and HTML. This knowledge is significant as the DocFinity Suite moves towards Version 10. Reed affirms, "I have a great deal to contribute to the continuing development of the DocFinity products, such as my experience programming in object-oriented languages." While at Boston University, Reed worked as a research assistant for the Center for Space Physics where she taught herself the IDL language to help the group members create visualizations to facilitate and present their own research.
